Advance Travel Authorisation details for the USA
To strengthen the security of travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program, requirements to travel visa-free have been enhanced.
From the 12th January 2009, advance travel authorisation is required to enter the USA even under the Visa Waiver Program enjoyed by Irish residents.
If you wish to apply, just log onto the following web address and you should have authorisation within 5 minutes.
Applications may be submitted at any time prior to travel to the United States. The Department of Homeland Security recommends that travel authorisation applications be submitted at least 72 hours prior to travel. The authorisation is valid for two years or until your passport expires. Have your passport to hand before logging on.
